On August 3, a meeting of the Jury, which will determine the Winners of the of the Open International Competition for the development of the architectural appearance of the Ostrov Mechty and Zagorye metro stations of the Biryulevskaya line, will be held.
Competition is carried out with the support of the Government of Moscow and the chief architect Sergei Kuznetsov. The competition is organized by the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies, the main designer and general contractor of Moscow metro development programs. Agency for Strategic Development CENTER is the operator of the competition.
The chairman of the jury is Andrey Bochkaryov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Urban Policy and Construction. The jury also includes Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow and First Deputy Chairman of Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of Moscow, Yuri Kravtsov, CEO of Mosinzhproekt JSC, and Viktor Kozlovskiy, Head of the Moscow Metro.
The jury will select a winner for each metro station at its final meeting based on who submits the best concept. The winners will have the opportunity to accept a contract for the development of a booklet on the station’s architectural and urban planning solutions to obtain a “Certificate of approval for the architectural and urban solution for a capital construction project” and for the supervision of design and construction work on their proposal.
